Reporting to the Security Coordinators, the Security Guard creates a positive guest experience while maintaining a safe and secure environment on the grounds.
Major Responsibilities
Conduct proactive patrols of the grounds, inspect buildings and is required to monitor various security systems.
Respond to emergency and nonemergency calls; assesses situations; liaises with emergency services and is to take statements to secure information provided by a witness.
Execute the Security Coordinators operational plans based on specific events or grounds wide activities including working with third party security providers, Toronto Police and other internal divisions.
Maintain daily records of all activities and incidents on the grounds.
Inform relevant authorities to locations in event of emergencies by activating emergency response systems and is required to assist with evacuation procedures as required.
Perform parking enforcement duties and may be required to attend court.
Perform road closure and traffic control duties as required.
Enforce bylaws, Acts, Codes and policies as they relate to Exhibition Place.
Escort the general public, staff and cash assets as required.
Perform first aid and CPR as required.
Undertake special projects, assignments and other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

1. Enrolled in or a graduate of Post-Secondary Law Enforcement/Criminology program or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 2. Possess a valid Security Guard License. 3. Possess a valid Class "G" Driver's License. 4. Possess standard first aid/CPR certification. 5. Experience in law enforcement and security operational procedures is an asset. 6. Knowledge of the Criminal Code and Trespass to Property Act. 7. Knowledge of emergency and evacuation procedures. 8. Proven customer service skills are required. 9. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written is required. 10. Experience utilizing software packages (word processing, and electronic mail Ability to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
