As a Recreation Leader you will be responsible for leading programs and supervising participants in general recreation programs, special events, day camps and youth programs


Primary duties include:
Plan meaningful program activities and complete lesson plans.
Be a positive role model and mentoring participants and youth volunteers.
Lead recreation programs that focus on social and/or skill-based outcomes.
Ensure safety and supervision of the participants.
Prepare equipment and supplies required for activities.
Maintain records, provide feedback, and assist with the program evaluation.
Take initiative and offer new ideas to make the program better.

Qualifications
***You must be at least 16 years of age for children's programs or 18 years of age for youth programs.
At least 4 months experience is required.
Current Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level "C", and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications are required.
Possession of a clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search is required. Date of completion must be within the last 12 months.
Experience or ability in working with low income families, culturally and/or physically diverse population will be considered an asset.
Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship building skills along with the ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts.

Pre-employment RequirementsA valid security clearance with a Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided.
