The regional admissions recruiter functions within a defined geographic market with responsibility for all aspects of the recruitment and admission of new entering students to Cal Poly Humboldt. The incumbent will use account management techniques to cultivate relationships with high schools, community colleges, and community-based organizations, and other appropriate organizations within the assigned area to develop and manage a funnel of prospective students and applicants. The regional recruiter develops a comprehensive understanding of Humboldt's offerings, academic programs, student life, and the region in which Humboldt is located. The role conducts admissions appointments, presentations, and provides follow-up correspondence and individual counseling to prospective students and their families via in-person meetings, email, social media, telephone, etc. The regional Admissions Recruiter participates in recruitment and special events (on and off campus) and may be assigned responsibility for one or more programs such as community-based partnership development, targeted recruitment to special populations, and other duties as assigned. This role also includes remote responsibility for recurring daily duties associated with management of the admissions office. Relocation required if not already located within the defined region.

Requires telephony, internet access to admissions management resources and high levels of training to deliver expert and compelling service.Time each week is dedicated to reviewing and contributing to admissions office reporting. Each quarter recruiters participate in business review processes and training.
General knowledge of research and interview techniques; Use initiative and resourcefulness in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements;
Collect, compile, analyze and evaluate data and make verbal or written presentations based on these data;
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty, CSU administrators, student organizations, private and public agencies and others in committee work, and student advising and community contacts;
Demonstrated ability to make decisions and carry through actions having implications with regard to other program or service areas Services Office.
Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; A master's degree in a job‐related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job‐related field.

Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills, demonstrate professional demeanor, and possess strong organization skills.
Demonstrated sensitivity to cross-cultural perspectives and experience working with staff and students of color, underrepresented populations, different socioeconomic statuses, gender identities and/or students with disabilities.
Interact in a caring manner with potential students, parents, high school, and community colleges staff on a one-on-one basis and in group settings.
Must be available to work outside of the regular business hours such as weekends and evenings.Ability to perform standard office duties.
Experience and proficiency with personal computers; Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; database software, Internet, and e-mail.
Willingness to learn and apply new software.
