    Our client is searching for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. A successful candidate will oversee various financial process and manage accounting tasks for the company. This role reports directly to the Director of Operations.

    Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
    • Supervise and lead the accounting department, junior employees, and accounting clerks
    • Manage working capital, including AR, AP and inventory levels
    • Manage month and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations
    • Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance to support decision making
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
    • Evaluate existing accounting systems and processes, recommending improvements for increased efficiency and effectiveness
    • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of regulatory filings, including tax returns and compliance reports
    • Act as the payroll and benefits coordinator
    • Stay current with accounting regulations and industry trends, ensuring compliance and best practices are followed
    • Develop accounting processes, procedures, and policies to strengthen internal controls
    • Ensure the safeguarding of assets and that sensitive information is kept secure
    • Plan, assign and review the work of staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency
    • Prepare accurate financial statements, which include reconciliation of accounts, calculating accruals and researching discrepancies; recommending improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
    Your strengths include:
    • Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
    • 3+ years of experience in a progressively responsible role
    • Advanced Excel and QuickBooks skills are required
    • High attention to detail
    • Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive work relationships internally and externally
