    Integration Developer (Contract Position)

    Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 18 months

    Location: Etobicoke, ON ,CA

    Must be eligible to work in Canada

    Hybrid position, a few times/week onsite need based

    Roles and responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Technology Product Owner of the Enrolment and Admissions Rethinking Initiative, the Application Developer is responsible for leading the development, customization and support of Salesforce Platform and its associated products including Education Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and MuleSoft.

    They will be responsible for the integrations and web service to support the Salesforce implementation, enterprise applications and other on premise and cloud-based third-party applications.

    Reporting work to the Technical Lead, the Application Developer will ensure that the solution can be operationalized effectively in working with the technical teams; and that the solution will

    continuously deliver on the client's goals and business outcomes.


    • Design, develop, implement and support the implementation of Salesforce integrations with enterprise applications


    • Develop high-quality custom integrations using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce APIs, web services (SOAP, REST), and other relevant technologies.


    • Create interfaces and integrations to third-party solutions using iPaaS solutions, message queueing systems and standard integration protocols


    • Design and develop solutions to migrate existing point-to-point integrations to modern and robust integration platforms


    • Maintenance and refinement of existing integrations and interfaces


    • Conduct requirements gathering and effectively solicit input from functional subject matter experts to enhance the student experience


    • Translate user requirements into actionable integration designs, driving seamless flow of data with the client and admissions ecosystems


    • Prepare use/test cases and test data sets for unit testing


    • Working with functional subject matter experts to assist with testing and validation of solutions


    • Leading problem analysis & resolution regarding critical incidents & daily support operations such as unexpected outages, integration failures, database recovery and data synchronization

    failures and supporting disaster recovery efforts


    • Strong consulting expertise and the ability to independently identify, investigate and recommend appropriate approaches and strategies


    • Create comprehensive documentation including integration architecture, development process, and maintenance procedure


    • Stay current with Salesforce releases, and development trends


    • Share and collaborate with portfolio technical leads and technology product owners on, technical best practices, and ensure alignment in the execution of portfolio-related activities

    Must have skills / qualifications:

    A minimum of 5yrs experience of the following:


    • Deep expertise with integration tools such as MuleSoft, JitterBit and Microsoft Azure LogicApps


    • Strong expertise in standard integration protocols and APIs, including REST and SOAP


    • Strong expertise with one or more of the following technologies:

    o Java/J2EE

    o SQL or Oracle PL/SQL

    o Salesforce SOQL, SOSL, and SAQL, Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce

    o JavaScript, Spring, Rest

    o JMS/RabbitMQ or similar message queueing system

    o CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins CI and Azure DevOps Pipelines

    o HTML5, Maven, Bitbucket or GIT

    o AWS technologies


    • Extensive experience in the delivery of business application and integration/web service solutions in a large, complex organization


    • Extensive experience in the analysis and development of web-based and n-tier applications


    • Sound knowledge of current and emerging trends in software development, databases, application design architecture, and experience with related technology


    • Strong knowledge of education data landscape, and familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS or Azure


    • Change management experience, managing multiple enterprise environments with dependencies on multiple systems and maintaining related documentation


    • Extensive expertise in using system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies


    • Superior oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent active listening skills


    • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills


    • ITIL knowledge


    • Experience working in an agile mode of operations


    • Experience managing work in Microsoft Azure DevOps


    • Salesforce experience highly desirable


    • Previous education industry or public sector experience is an asset
