The Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant in two of our departments.

We are a large medical practice (approximately 140+ doctors and 95+ Medical Administrative staff) and are seeking two new staff to join our team.

_ Experience in the EMR system Accuro is mandatory._
***: The position provides administrative support to physicians, their practices and clinics. The Administrative assistant will be responsible for the clinical and administrative services associated with the operation of the physician practice.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsibilities include; but are not limited to:_
  • Managing and maintaining physician schedule
  • Coordinating appointments with other departments and clinics
  • Coordinating activities with external sites involved in the physician practice
  • Transcription of letters and medical notes on an EMR system
  • Electronic filing and chart organization
  • Managing all patient bookings; inquiries and scheduling appropriate tests; and running inperson clinics
  • Coordination of OHIP billing
  • Supporting physicians in their academic and research roles

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in medical administrative assistant role. Hospital experience is preferred
  • Proven knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to use Accuro EMR is required
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and act independently using sound judgment as well as accepting direction
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and good team player skills
  • Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple work demands, including time sensitive requests
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to and work well with a diverse group of individuals
  • Tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Demonstrated experience working in a highvolume, fastpaced clinic

EDUCATION:

College Diploma in a related discipline, or recognized equivalent, or a combination of education and experience if required.
