FREDERICK'S AT ELTE RESTAURANT GENERAL MANAGER
General Manager

Frederick's is the new, in store dining establishment at Elte, Toronto's source for considered design for all things home.

Located in the Design District of Toronto [Castlefield Caledonia], Frederick's will be known for its style, vision and collaboration with vendors.

Frederick's will be an exciting new food, beverage, and retail offering for Elte's incredibly well-earned clientele, design trade partners, local businesses, and in-house staff.

Job Summary

The General Manager at Frederick's should be equally stylish and savvy as the environment at Frederick's and Elte.

The General Manager will act as the primary source for staff inspirational leadership, guest service excellence, and the business's profitability.

This role is hands-on.

The General Manager will be fully involved in the day-to-day guest experience, being highly engaged with their guests and knowledgeable about both the offerings at Frederick and the history of Elte.

The General Manager at Frederick's is ultimately responsible for leading the business towards financial success while upholding Frederick's brand image and values.


The General Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the business consistently delivers high-quality food and beverage products and leading Frederick's vision for an exceptional guest experience.

The General Manager must set the exemplary standard of guest satisfaction for their staff by role modelling the expectations set for them by the brand model.

Competencies:

  • Proactive planning: manage and maintain appropriate inventory levels for food, beverage, and operational supplies
  • Passion for guest experience: provides exemplary guest service and builds relationships with guests to set the standard for employees
  • Time management: effectively manages time to achieve business goals while satisfying the guest service needs
  • Communication: provides open and consistent communication with the guests and staff and actively listens and receives feedback
  • Problemsolving: responsive, calm, creative and flexible to ensure operations continue to run smoothly in the face of the unexpected
  • Consistency: approachable by both employees and guests. Actions and reactions are
consistent to create a safe and comfortable environment for employees and guests

  • Business awareness: knows how to read a PL and understands what contributes to each
section. Understands how to impact the costs and manage expenses.


Education and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of food and beverage management experience
  • Experience in bespoke FB environment considered an asset
  • Experience in a new restaurant opening considered an asset
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to: POS, inventory management software, excel and word
  • Food Safety Course and W.H.M.I.S.
  • Smart Serve certified
  • Must be able to carry and lift items weighing 25lbs, must be able to stoop and bend
  • Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and
holidays based on business needs

Location: 80 Ronald Ave [Castlefield Caledonia Area north of Eglinton, west of Dufferin]

Days and Hours of Operation:
Monday to Saturday - 8:30am to 6:00pm, Sunday - Closed

Special Events:
As Required. Includes Evenings and Weekends.

Position:
Full Time [44 hrs/week plus events as required]


Salary:
Negotiable based on experience
