The Investment Operations department works closely with the Investment management team and other business partners to deliver transactional, operational, and accounting support, as well deliver assistance with financial reporting, analytics and valuations.
Partner with colleagues from the Investment Departments, Structuring, Tax and Treasury to successfully structure, close and fund transactions by proactively identifying and resolving operational issues
Assist in the timely completion and accuracy of various reports and reconciliations relating to benchmarking, portfolio holdings and P&L
Assist in the pricing and valuation validation process for principal credit, intellectual property and structured product investments; provide insightful analysis to proactively identify material performance movements
Maintain an ongoing effective working relationship with internal investment staff and external asset managers to ensure issues are discussed and resolved and financial controls and reporting requirements are met
Build a reputation as a subject matter expert in the private investments domain for issues related to investment operations and accounting
seek ways to streamline processes, create operational efficiencies and foster a culture of continuous improvement, enhanced controls and data integrity
Identify value-add opportunities, think "outside of the box" and deliver valuable strategic program/project insight
Develop training documentation and process for the Credit Operation team
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or other related discipline
Advanced Degree or Professional designation such as a CFA or CPA is considered an asset
Minimum 3 years direct experience in private/public credit operation
Strong technical and analytical skills, including high attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications; aptitude in learning new software applications
Experience onboarding new instrument is an asset
Excellent quantitative and computer skills
Strong team player who enjoys a challenging performance culture
Self-motivated, flexible, adaptable
