    About Us

    The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies a full range of IT services to government ministries and agencies. The ITD supports government customers with help desk, hardware and software, application development IT security services and IT management. The ITD also sets government-wide policies and standards in IT infrastructure, IT support services and security.

    The Opportunity

    The Citizen Centric Program Delivery branch is seeking an individual who is an effective communicator, and cross-team collaborator with strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills for the position of CMDB Team Lead. Reporting to the Director, Data Management and Analytics, you will be responsible for leading, supporting, developing, and mobilizing the CMDB Management team towards a shared purpose in the best interests of the branch, the Government of Saskatchewan and service delivery to citizens.

    The primary purpose of the CMDB Team Lead role is to administer, monitor, manage, update and enhance the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring that the reliability and integrity of the CMDB, the ServiceNow Platform and any third-party related applications are maintained. The position will also be responsible for the development, implementation and management of data integrity and compliance-related tasks directly and indirectly related to the ServiceNow CMDB and the overall Platform.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring data management, quality and governance of the ServiceNow CMDB is maintained, monitored and remediated when required.
  • Assigning and managing day-to-day duties of the CMDB Team, ensuring work is completed accurately and within expected timeframes.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of IT software and hardware assets, identifying issues and managing remediation, and optimization activities.
  • Documenting, presenting, and proposing recommendations that will impact cross-government, multiple-user applications directly and indirectly related to the CMDB and the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment for your team.
  • Influencing the direction, actions and/or decisions directly or indirectly related to the CMDB and the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Performing advanced analysis by using various techniques, such as facilitation methods and modelling tools to capture requirements used for business and process-driven enhancements and/or to complete tasks.
  • Creating complex and in-depth reports for a variety of clients.
  • Identifying opportunities (processes, training, systems) to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
  • Managing leave and overtime in alignment with goals and standards.
  • Ensuring the CMDB Team is positioned to satisfy operational, day-to-day duties as needed.
  • Providing support for the development of estimates and business cases.

    • The Ideal Candidate

  • As our successful candidate, you will be a results-oriented individual with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Completion of a degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing, leading, or supervising a technical team.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing, configuring, and managing the ServiceNow Platform and CMDB is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience utilizing data stewardship principles.
  • Experience leading, training, and coaching staff.
  • Be approachable and flexible when dealing with internal Government of Saskatchewan employees.
  • Direct experience with the following technologies in the past two years: MS T-SQLPythonJavaServiceNow scripting languageREST and SOAP APIs
  • The following ServiceNow certifications in the following areas are preferred: ServiceNow Certified System AdministratorCMDB HealthCMDB Configurations
