Description
The incumbent exercises responsibility for the development, co-ordination, execution and safe operation of a variety tasks related to providing all of Theatre Sheridan's lighting requirements as they pertain to activities in the Macdonald Heaslip Hall, Studio Theatre and Multi-Purpose Instructional Space.
What You'll be DoingCoordinating with lighting designers and directors to determine requirements for Theatre Sheridan productions.
Administering the budgets and monitoring the expenditure of same for maintenance, repair and ordering of inventory for all prop needs.
In collaboration with other Theatre Sheridan staff and students, maintaining updated equipment inventory documentation throughout rehearsal and performance process.
Coordinating the use of lighting equipment.
Overseeing the work on Theatre Sheridan production crew.
Supporting classroom work periods for Technical Production for the Performing Arts Industry, Performing Arts Prep programs.
Collaborating with instructors to prepare materials, equipment, tools for in-class instruction
Maintaining, evaluating, and upgrading Theatre Sheridan's facilities and lighting equipment stock in consultation with other Theatre Sheridan staff.
Making recommendations and assisting in equipment purchases in coordination with Facilities, Capital Planning, IT, and Health and Safety Departments.
Other related duties as required.
About You

You have a highly collaborative spirit and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others to support establishing and achieving collective goals.
You enjoy balancing many different tasks and can prioritize multiple projects while staying organized and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Minimum of three years experience as Head of Lighting in a theatre or live event venue (Equivalency will be considered).
Understanding of network signal workflow; working knowledge of emerging theatre-specific lighting infrastructure.
Completed Working at heights, Fall Arrest/Prevention training, valid Elevated Lift operator ticket.
