    Description
    The Civil / MiningField Engineer play a crucial role in various aspects of mining operations, plays avital role in supporting engineering activities, ensuring the efficient andsafe operation of mining projects, and contributing to the overall success ofmining operations.

    Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Design: Assist in the design ofinfrastructure including but not limited to roads, bridges, dams, borrowsources, crushing of granulars and other constructions essential for miningoperations.
  • Site Supervision: Oversee the construction andmaintenance of civil structures within the mine. Ensure projects adhere todrawings, design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of bothmaterials and workmanship. Ensure that all construction matches thepre-approved designs and maintains the highest quality standards.
  • Safety Management: Implement and monitor safetyprotocols to protect all project personnel and equipment. Address and mitigatehazards associated with civil engineering in a mining environment.
  • Technical Support andTroubleshooting: Providetechnical advice regarding structural repairs and modifications. Troubleshootissues that arise during construction and operational phases.
  • Cost Management: Help manage costs byforecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures,analyzing variances, change management and initiating corrective actions.
  • Documentation: Maintain projectdocumentation, including compliance reports, inspection findings, andconstruction logs. Ensure all necessary permits and legal documents areobtained and kept up to date.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with otherengineers, geologists, environmental scientists, and mining staff to coordinateprojects and ensure the optimal use of resources. Maintain a positiverelationship with subcontractors and the client and all its representatives.
  • Sustainability and EnvironmentalProtection: Design andimplement strategies to minimize the environmental impact of mining operations,including erosion control and water management solutions.
  • Other duties as required.

    Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or MiningEngineering or a related field.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) designation will be preferred.
  • Experience in civil engineeringwithin the civil and or mining industry or a similar industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding ofconstruction methods, technical report writing, ability to read and understandengineered drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with CAD softwareand other engineering tools will be considered an asset
  • Excellent problem-solving,organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a challengingand physically demanding environment.
  • Strong communication skills andthe ability to work as part of a team.

  • Valid class 5driver's license and willing to provide a current driver abstract.
  • Willingness towork occasional overtime during peak or critical work periods.
  • Interact with working heavyequipment with the use of a 2 way radio.
