    Description

    Cando Rail & Terminals is a leading North American rail and terminal services provider with operations across Canada and the United States.

    Cando is the critical linchpin in supply chains, connecting industry to Class 1 railways.

    Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the preparation and review of financial transactions and the financial results of a segment of the Company's operating units.

    The successful candidate will be an individual with a strong accounting background, an analytical and critical thinking focus who can work with individuals across multiple disciplines to ensure accurate and timely financial results and feedback to the operations team.

    Ability to learn and develop from established finance professionals.
    Contribution to meaningful projects in the rail industry and growth within the company
    Prepare in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, wage analysis and other KPI's

    Collaboration with operations team to provide financial support where required, including financial analysis to understand the financial implications of ongoing projects, potential opportunities and/or problems experienced.

    Review of purchasing transactions and assessment of required federal and provincial taxes to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

    Drive continuous process improvements in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting processes.
    Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows and enhance data accuracy
    Other full-cycle accounting functions as required.
    Diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
    ~3+ years' experience in core accounting processes is preferred.
