- Educational Assistant Diploma and/or experience deemed equivalent by the Board
- Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field of study (Child Youth Worker, Developmental Service Worker, Social Service Worker)
- Experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred and school-based experience is considered an asset
- Flexibility, patience, empathy and the ability to work closely with students with complex needs, classroom teacher, and Administration
- Candidates must be capable of performing the essential physical duties of the position, such as running/walking on uneven ground, lifting, positioning and transferring children and equipment and utilizing Behaviour Management System techniques where required Start Date: As soon as possible Hours of Work: up to 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, September to June) Rate of Pay: $21.63 per hour plus 4% vacation pay in accordance with the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement Interested applicants are requested to apply through (steps are below) and include three supervisory references.

Educational assistants support students with many diverse needs. This work provides support for the behaviour, safety, medical and physical needs of a student. Duties may include lifting, toileting, positioning and transferring children and equipment and application of Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) (training provided). Educational assistants support students both individually and/or in a group setting.Qualifications
