    Headquartered in Montreal, Behaviour has more than 1,300 employees worldwide with studios in Toronto (Behaviour Toronto), Seattle (Midwinter Entertainment), Rotterdam (Behaviour Rotterdam) and in the UK (Behaviour UK–North & South). This role is part of our business unit working on original games. These teams focus on the creation, development, and maintenance of Behaviour-owned IPs such as Dead by Daylight and Meet Your Maker and other unannounced titles in development.

The Technical Artist is essential to ensure that technology, tools and processes are in place to realize the artistic vision of a project. He/She works with the creative team to explain the capabilities and limitations of the technology, as well as with the technical team to promote the needs of artists and find multiple solutions to technological issues.
    Acts as a resource person for the team members to determine the technical impact of the artistic vision;
    Promotes the reuse of assets, know-how and tools across multiple projects;
    Ensures that the team has the technical expertise to do the work required in the project;
    Establishes strong communication between the creative and technical teams;
    Finds innovative solutions and demonstratesexpertise in the field of technical optimization to produce the best visual results possible within the limits of technology equipment;
    Strong comprehension of the rendering pipeline in order to gauge the impact on performance.
    6 years of experience related to 3D modeling, textures, frames, animation, lighting, special effects and scripts(shaders, foliage,profiling);
    ~ Technical Knowledge in real time 3D graphics and digital content creation pipeline;
    ~ Experience with commercial 3D tools (Maya, 3ds Max, Substance, Blender);
    ~ Mandatory experience with Unreal (other game engines will be considered an asset);
    ~ SpeedTree /Pivot Painter proficiency as well as other appropriate software and hand modelling techniques for foliage assets;
    ~ Agir en tant que personne ressource pour les membres de l'équipe afin de déterminer l'impact technique de la vision artistique;
    Promouvoir la réutilisation des ressources, du savoir-faire et des outils sur plusieurs projets;
    S'assurer que l'équipe possède l'expertise technique pour effectuer le travail requis dans le projet;
    Établir une solide communication entre les équipes créatives et techniques;
    Trouver des solutions innovantes et démontre une expertise dans le domaine de l'optimisation technique afin de produire les meilleurs résultats visuels possibles dans les limites de l'équipement technologique;
    Avoir une bonne compréhension des étapes et des méthodes de rendu afin d'évaluer l'impact sur la performance.
    6 ans d'expérience en modélisation 3D, textures, cadrage, animation, éclairage, effets spéciaux et scripts (shaders, feuillage, profiling);
    ~ Connaissances techniques en graphisme 3D en temps réel ainsi qu'en techniques de création de contenu numérique;
    ~ Expérience avec des outils 3D commerciaux (Maya, 3ds Max, Substance);
    ~ Expérience obligatoire avec Unreal (les autres moteurs de jeu seront considérés comme un atout);
    ~ Connaissance de SpeedTree /Pivot Painter et de tout autre logiciel ou technique de modélisation pour le feuillage pertinent;
    ~ Maîtrise de l'anglais et du français sachant que des contacts réguliers se feront en anglais avec des partenaires internes et externes ne résident pas exclusivement au Québec.

    L'artiste technique est essentiel pour s'assurer que la technologie, les outils et les processus sont en place afin de réaliser la vision artistique d'un projet. L'artiste travaille avec l'équipe créative pour leur expliquer les capacités et les limites de la technologie, ainsi qu'avec l'équipe technique pour mettre en avant les besoins des artistes et trouver de multiples solutions aux problèmes technologiques.
