Western Group is seeking a Manager, IT Infrastructure to join our team.

This full-time position is based at our head office in North Vancouver and reports to the Director of Technology Transformation.


The Position
This senior level hands-on position is the lead technical resource for all Infrastructure, security, and cloud platforms. This role is responsible for deploying, securing, and supporting critical back-end server, networking, security and cloud infrastructure.

You will research and test platforms and work closely with the Director of IT in the selection of new technologies in support of overall strategic growth and security initiatives.


You will be part of a motivated and diverse team and be given the autonomy and support to do your best work.

This position will play a key role in supporting the Director, Technology Transformation drive change. This Level 3 position will drive transformational technology change and provide technical assistance to our varied Business Units.


Responsibilities & Activities
This position is the lead technical resource for all Infrastructure, security, and cloud solutions.

Security

  • Deploy and maintain security platforms including endpoint protection, intrusion detection and network monitoring systems
  • Manage our Microsoft security and device management stack including Security Center, Intune and Endpoint Manager / Defender
  • Monitor availability and security of servers, clients and network devices/services and respond to highrisk alerts
  • Ensure all servers and networking equipment are up to date with patches and security fixes.
  • Evaluate and recommend new security solutions for implementation e.g. SIEM, IDS and threat hunting solutions
Infrastructure

  • Manage VMware vSphere and ESX infrastructure and VMs
  • Windows Server, AD and Group Policies
- networking equipment and VPN connectivity for remote office and work-from-home locations
- deploy on-prem and cloud backup and disaster recovery platforms

  • Evaluate and recommend new infrastructure solutions for implementation e.g. enterprise cloud DR platform
Cloud (Azure and M365)

  • Architect, develop, and manage our Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud stack in a complex multi tenancy and domain environment
  • Design, develop and manage SharePoint sites within a large site collection
  • Exchange Online Administration
  • Create and manage tenancies and domains
  • Collaborate with IT and Business Unit partners to support our continued migration to the cloud

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 510 years of experience as a senior infrastructure expert in a complex onpremise and hybrid cloud environment
  • Technical diploma or university degree in the field of computer science
  • Senior level skill and experience architecting, developing, and managing Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud stack in a multi tenancy/domain environment.
  • Sharepoint Online in a multisite environment
  • Azure AD, AD Connect, and B2B (B2B Direct Connect, B2B Collaboration, Organizational Sharing)
  • Exchange Online and onprem hybrid environment
  • Teams, OneDrive, OneNote, Power BI and other end user platforms in the Microsoft 365 stack
  • Migrating/merging M365/Azure tenancies and managing AD FS
  • Security
  • Experience managing the Microsoft security and device management stack including Security Center, Intune and Endpoint Manager / Defender
  • Experience designing and implementing secure segmented networks
  • Endpoint Protection and intrusion detection system (IDS/NIDS)
  • Experience Managing firewalls and remote access gateways
  • Network protocols, services, and hardware
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and managing switch, router, firewall and Wi-Fi hardware
  • DNS, DHCP, IP Routing and VLAN configuration and troubleshooting
  • Server hardware, storage and Operating Systems
  • VMWare VSphere and ESX implementation and administration
  • SAN and NAS storage arrays
  • Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Excellent Customer/Team interaction skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problemsolving ability.
  • Fluent spoken and written English skills
