We are looking for a Proposal Coordinator to support Walker's Environmental Division.


PROPOSAL COORDINATOR


As our new Proposal Coordinator, you will report to the Proposal Lead, working to ensure that all Environmental Division proposal and grant responses are fully executed from start to finish.


Your major responsibilities will include:

  • Sourcing and identifying potential proposal/grant opportunities via online bidding platforms and provincial/federal websites as well as through interaction with internal stakeholders.
  • Identifying and communicating key/critical information within proposal/grant postings and documentation that supports the "Go, No-Go" decision.
  • Assisting in the assessment of requests for proposals/grants with the Proposal Lead to determine if the opportunity consistent with Walker's short and longterm business goals.
  • Communicating proposal/grant opportunities to the Proposal Lead and assistance with the identification of proposal/grant response team.
  • Developing proposal/grant response schedules and tracking of response team action items
  • Preparing, tracking, and organizing required response materials.
  • Communicating status throughout the process to the response team.
  • Creating, editing, formatting and updating proposal/grant response documents.
  • Writing technical and nontechnical sections of proposal/grant responses.
  • Obtaining required documentation e.g. (Bonding, Insurance, WSIB, ECA's, Equipment Lists, References etc.)
  • Arranging inhouse legal review as required.
  • Writing, editing, and submitting formal questions to identified external proposal/grant contacts as well as communicating and tracking of issued agenda.
  • Coordinating the finalization and timely submission of required proposal/grant response materials.
  • Assisting with tracking and reporting of proposal/grant responses and outcomes.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required


This position requires a demonstrated degree of initiative, judgment and tact to organize and prioritize tasks associated with proposal/grant responses.

The incumbent must deal with colleagues, partners and government officials with tact, courtesy and diplomacy to facilitate positive relationships.

  • Degree or certificate in Science, Social Science, Business or equivalent is required. Additional courses in project management, environmental sciences, and/or environmental management would be an asset._
  • Minimum three years of work experience is preferred.
  • Drivers license is required for this position.
  • Excellent communication skills including highlevel written and verbal skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to produce excellent written reports and an understanding of business writing best practices, editing, formatting and/or proofreading required
  • Ability to synthesize detailed scientific, technical, and financial information into clear, concise reports and presentations required.
  • Intermediate or higher computer software skills in Microsoft Suite (i.e. MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) to produce documents, reports, and presentations, as required.
  • Communicates well with internal communication platforms (MS Teams, SharePoint, Workvivo)
  • Demonstrates leadership and teamwork, able to keep team tasks and deliverables on track while fostering collaboration and a positive team environment.
  • Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.
  • Project Management able to prioritize and execute critical actions on multiple projects running concurrently with nonnegotiable deadlines.
  • High degree of selfawareness and adaptability able to tailor communication style to diverse personalities and strengths.
  • High level of attention to detail makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly.

  • Some travel (less than 10%) will be required.
