    We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Tester I to join our fast-growing team.

    This role is open to Ottawa, ON based candidates. This is a Hybrid role that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the office located in Ottawa.

    Overview:

    As a Software Quality Assurance Tester I, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through meticulous testing and analysis. Be the voice of quality on one or more initiatives, you will work closely with our development team and product management team to identify issues, report bugs, and assist in maintaining high standards of software quality. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to kick-start their career in quality assurance.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    • 1+ years QA experience / 1+ years dev/devOps technical related experience
    • 1+ years of Linux OS based experience
    • 1+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
    • Thorough understanding of various types of software testing (Web UI, API, stress, performance, regression etc.)
    • Knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes
    • Familiarity with software defect tracking systems such as JIRA
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively
    • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to work with self-reliance and efficiency

    Nice to have:

    • Experience with AWS, Azure, etc cloud technologies
    • Experience with docker containers
    • Experience in continuous deployment, integration, testing and delivery cycle
    • Experience with automation test tools
    • Experience with Dell Powerscale cluster, Vast datastore, Qulmulo platform and other data storage
    • Experience with AD, HDFS

    This role will report to the QA Manager/QA team lead.

    Tasks and Responsibilities: Throughout the Agreement, you will work as part of a dynamic team working with one or more team members of Superna. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Collaborate with the product manager/design/development team to understand product requirements and specifications
    • Develop Test Plans and Test Cases
    • Execute Test Plans and Test Cases
    • Develop and test documentation on features and products
    • Assess product functionality and usability against requirements and generally accepted good practices
    • Document and report bugs, errors, enhancements and other issues encountered during testing
    • Defect Test and Retest
    • Execute targeted testing for customer scenarios, debug and root cause field issues with the design team
    • Work closely with the QA team members to enhance testing processes and methodologies.
    • Assist in maintaining test environments and test data sets
    • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss project status, issues, and potential improvements
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA procedures and best practice
