What Are We About?:


The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) program including intake processes, report preparation, childcare registration, and program delivery logistics.

The Administrative Assistant works collaboratively with the manager, faculty, and New Canadians Centre to ensure effective communication with students, to assist faculty with program delivery logistics (room booking, ordering faculty determined supplies, & field trip arrangements per faculty direction), and to ensure data entry and monthly reporting adheres to the contractual agreement of the LINC program with the Federal Government.

What We Are Looking For:

The incumbent will have a 2-year diploma in Business/Office Administration, Social Services or Community Development along with 1-3 years experience demonstrating:

  • Experience working independently in a front-line and customer service capacity
  • Experience working with new Canadian clients with potential barriers and/or from marginalized populations.
  • Experience prioritizing, organizing and problem solving whilst working in a team environment
  • Experience working with a variety of software packages and systems including Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information
