    Helpline Manager


    Location:
    Remote

    Job Status: 16-week Summer Contract (Full-time, 40 hours/week)

    Proficiency in Somali, Urdu or French is an asset
    Nisa Helpline is a confidential and supportive helpline dedicated to providing assistance to Muslim women facing crisis situations.

    Our mission is to offer compassionate and empathetic support to those in need, empowering them to navigate challenges with resilience.

    As a Summer Student Peer Counsellor working on the crisis line at Nisa Helpline, you will play a crucial role in providing empathetic and non-judgmental support to Muslim women facing crises.

    This position involves active listening, emotional support, and resource referral to empower individuals during challenging times.
    Provide confidential peer counseling to Muslim women facing crises.


    Education/Qualification:
    Cultural sensitivity and awareness of issues faced by Muslim women.
    This position is under the Canada Summer Jobs program, to be eligible, applicants must:
    Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
