Sistering is a multi-service agency for at-risk, socially isolated women and trans people in Toronto who are homeless or precariously housed.
Our harm reduction philosophy is a core element of all the work we do. We operate on a trauma-informed and relationship-based model.
Our programs include a low-barrier 24/7 Drop In, Housing and Case Support, Harm Reduction, Peer Outreach, on-site Medical Clinic and Spun Studio social enterprise.
***: The Program Manager -Drop In will be responsible for developing and managing the Drop In program of the Agency. The Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Drop In program. The Manager will provide leadership and clinical supervision to the community support workers which includes identifying training and development opportunities for the Drop In Team. The Program Manager will liaise with other partner service providers to ensure the effective delivery of housing services from a client-centered, trauma informed, harm reduction, anti-oppressive perspective. In addition, the Manager will work collaboratively with other Sistering Program such as the Harm Reduction Team, Case Support, Food Access and our Social Enterprises to ensure strong integration between programs and leveraging all opportunities to provide comprehensive programming. The Manager's work includes a mix of meeting practical needs and supports and counseling services for our clients when needed, in addition to complying with the expectations of funders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision_
_:_ - Develop strong collaboration with Executive Director, Directors and Supervisors
- Supervise and support the Drop In Supervisors and Drop In Workers
- Oversee case management, appropriate crisis intervention, counseling,
- Provide case management guidance and access resources for staff
- Provide debrief and skill building opportunities with both staff and participants
- Support the provision of practical support to women which may involve accessing any of the services offered by Sistering
- Support front line staff and be involved in the supervision of volunteers and placement students
- Ensure the recruitment and training of all new staff/peers in consultation with the Director of Programs & Services
- Provide direction and coordination of team development needs and opportunities/ initiatives
- Initiate training and improve areas of service where service does not meet standards and expectations or as set out by senior management
- Administration_
_:_ - Collaborate with members of the management team in the development of operational policy, guidelines and tools for the effective development of and operation of the Sistering programs
- Ensure the purchase and maintenance of program equipment and supplies
- Support the Director of Programs & Services in the development and monitoring of the Drop In budget
- Work collaboratively with all staff in program development and implementation to ensure seamless and responsive service
- Collaborate with the Drop In Supervisor to develop systems to capture narrative and statistics for reporting purposes, capturing trends and fundraising
- Ensure the maintenance of program statistics and assist in the development and implementation of appropriate program evaluation tools that are consistently kept
- Ensure that case notes, OCAN's and Coordinated Case Plans are completed in a timely fashion
- In conjunction with the Executive and Director of Programs & Services and other Supervisors, monitor and ensure the continued development of program policy and procedures
- Develop collaborations with other parts of Sistering programming to work towards seamless, integrated programming
- Participate in staff meetings and agency committees

Community Building:

- In partnership with other staff, build internal capacity by supporting staff to develop a critical analysis of social conditions and engage in advocacy accordingly
- In Partnership with management and other Supervisors develop and maintain strong working relationships with other internal/external services and programs of Sistering.
- In Partnership with managers and other Supervisors keep up to date on services and resources available as well as develop and maintain strong working relationships with community stakeholders
- Provide advocacy services on behalf of women within Sistering and with other agencies
- Collaborate with service users to identify directions and methods for social change

QUALIFICATIONS:
