We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Steward to join our team at CEM Resorts in Toronto.

As a Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our resort's kitchens, dining areas, and other food service facilities.

Your attention to detail, efficiency, and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness will be essential in creating a safe and pleasant environment for both our guests and staff.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all kitchen and food service areas, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and general housekeeping duties.
  • Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
  • Wash, sanitize, and store all dishes, glassware, utensils, and cooking equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the unloading and storage of food and supplies.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring cleanliness and organization of tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary items.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an adequate supply of clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment during peak periods.
  • Follow proper waste disposal procedures to maintain cleanliness and minimize environmental impact.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Notify management of any maintenance or repair needs in the kitchen or food service areas.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or damages.
  • Uphold CEM Resorts' standards of exceptional customer service, professionalism, and teamwork at all times.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Steward or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of proper sanitation and safety practices in a food service environment.
  • Ability to operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
