    Description

    Effective January 1st, 2024 the salary range for this position is $28.14 to $32.82 per hour in compliance with OPSEU Unified Bargaining Unit collective agreement provisions.

    The new rates, effective retroactive to January 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.


    Consider this challenging opportunity in the Ontario and Superior Court of Justice, where you will assist in coordinating and scheduling cases in criminal, family, civil and other courts.

    What can I expect to do in this role?

    Your responsibilities will include:


    • assisting the Trial Coordinator in maintaining court lists utilizing established scheduling practices;
    • processing documents and orders; liaising with Trial Coordinators, judiciary, counsel, other staff, and the public regarding the scheduling of matters;
    • identifying and bringing issues that may affect the schedule to the attention of the Trial Coordinator(s);
    • assisting in the preparation of statistical information.

    • You have a valid Driver's License within the Province of Ontario

    Qualifications:




    • organizational, coordination and planning skills to assist with the scheduling of court sittings
    • ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
    • judgement and problem solving skills
    • ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • analytical skills to assist with the compilation of statistical data
    • communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tact and diplomacy with judges, staff, counsel and the public
    • knowledge of the functions and rules of the Superior and/or Ontario Court of Justice, relevant legislation and legal terminology
    • proficiency with computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, email, Internet and management information systems)
