    CEM Engineering is actively seeking an exceptional Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the renewable energy revolution forward.

    This is a senior full-time position intended to provide the successful candidate with an opportunity for professional growth within CEM Engineering.

    This position offers a hybrid work environment, in which you will work two days in office and three days working remotely, from your home office.

    You have the flexibility to work in office more than two days, if desired.

    Oversees the planning, design, construction, and estimation of cost for company projects.
    Assist in the preparation and review of contract drawings and documents.

    Participate in design and construction schedules and monitor progress of various projects and their conformance to design and construction schedules.

    Provide site inspection in order to monitor progress and ensure compliance with all safety and government regulations.
    Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geological data to plan projects.

    Provide feedback and advice regarding the civil and structural aspects of company projects to management and other project leaders.

    Supervise the preparation and review of contract drawings and documents.
    Participate in the preparation of project contract documents.
    Deliver projects on budgets and within identified schedules.
    Participate in technical reviews and provide recommendations regarding designs and reports prepared by engineers.
    Will be required to support engineering proposals and business development.
    Resource planning for projects.

    Civil/Structural Engineer who is customer-focused with 10+ years of working experience in our niche industry.
    Bachelor's degree in engineering – Civil/Structural major.
    Experience in consulting services involving industrial construction projects in Canada.
    Experience with power generation and electrical distribution infrastructure design
    Experience with natural gas and hydrogen processing infrastructure projects would be an asset.
    Experience with Canadian (especially Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta) and US building codes.
    Experience with municipal and regional permitting activities, including familiarity with technical and commercial application process expectations.
    Familiarity with farm building code of Canada (FBCC)
    Experience with field support and construction.
    Experience with interfacing with architectural design
    Familiarity with structural Engineering, civil Engineering and architectural service subcontracts
    Requires civil/structural engineering experience on projects similar to CEM's area of expertise.
    Understanding of engineering project lifecycle.
    Technical writing skills.
    Fluency in standard office software.
    Experience with technical software

    Structural concrete design (reinforced)
    Concrete block and brick
    Building design for heavy industrial buildings
    Noise mitigation and fireproofing techniques and material
    Dynamic analyses (seismic)
    Dynamic analysis for rotating equipment
    Raft foundation design
    Pile foundation design
    Foundation design for rotating equipment.
    Civil Experience
    Earthworks (site grading, bulk earthworks)
    Site drainage (plant site drainage, storm water ponds, culverts, open channel, and flood control)
    Site investigation (planning and scoping of site)
    Willingness to share his/her experience and knowledge with fellow colleagues having different technical backgrounds.
    Willing to travel occasionally to job sites and other third-party offices.

    Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Landed Immigrant who is in the process of becoming a Permanent Resident.

    Ability to directly interface with Client and flexibility of adjusting level of technical communication, based on Client's technical affinity.
