    Description

    If you are passionate about creating a meaningful learning experience, Combined Insurance has a unique and exciting opportunity for a candidate that can embody a learning culture while increasing organizational performance results. As a Training Specialist, you will play a crucial role in fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment for new candidates who are independent contract sales representatives. Your primary responsibility is to facilitate the learning process, promote collaboration, and ensure the acquisition of knowledge and skills. This position requires a combination of instructional expertise, interpersonal skills, and a passion for continuous learning.

    This position is located in Longueil (Brossard), Quebec and has the flexibility of a hybrid work environment when not delivering in-class sessions.

    What You Will Be Working On:

    Facilitation of Learning

    • Lead and facilitate interactive learning sessions and programs using both virtual and in-person modalities. This will include providing learning and coaching to new candidates in their process of obtaining an insurance license.

    • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences.

    • Foster an inclusive and participatory learning environment that encourages active engagement and obtains solid performance results.

    Content Delivery

    • Effectively communicate course content and learning objectives.

    • Provide clear explanations, examples, scenarios and demonstrations to enhance understanding. Including but limited to experiential learning.

    • Adapt content delivery based on feedback and assessment.

    • Leverage technology tools and platforms to enhance the learning experience as well as reporting and tracking.

    Assessment and Feedback

    • Implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate learner progress.

    • Provide constructive feedback to individuals and groups, highlighting areas for improvement and acknowledging achievements.

    • Monitor and adjust the learning approach based on assessment outcomes.

    Collaboration and Communication

    • Develop strong relationships and rapport that further foster a learning culture and drive greater alignment across our business.

    • Communicate clearly and professionally with participants, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.

    • Engage support (various partners and departments) required for the effective delivery of programs.

    • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with learning methodologies and industry trends.

    • Seek feedback from participants and colleagues to enhance personal facilitation skills.


    • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a facilitator, trainer, or teacher in a professional setting.

    • Life license (LLPQ) preferred.

    • Bilingual French (and English) preferred.

    • Designation in adult learning principles and/or instructional design concepts (CTDP or CTP) an asset.

    • A team player who enjoys building collaborative partnerships to achieve results.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to adapt to diverse learning needs and create an inclusive learning environment.

    • Solid expertise using Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, PPT, Excel).

    • In-depth ability to facilitate using virtual technology.

    • Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) an asset.

    • Knowledge of the insurance industry (accident & illness) a strong asset.

    • Open to travel (35%) to various locations across the province or country.
