- Successful completion of a Bachelor program majoring in Nutrition or recognized equivalent
- Successful completion of a dietetic internship program or recognized equivalent as accredited by Dietitians of Canada
- Successful completion of certification program in area of specialization preferred
- Two (2) years of practical and related experience preferred
- Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Membership with Dietitians of Canada preferred
- Experience in related specialties an asset

Job Description
As an integral member of the Inherited Metabolic Disease Clinics within the Genetics Program at UHN and a specialist in the delivery of professional therapeutic nutrition services, the REGISTERED CLINICAL DIETITIAN (RD) works to ensure that patients receive appropriate and optimal nutritional care by performing the following responsibilities: performing functions to ensure the provision of nutrition services to established standards of quality; initiating and collaborating with patients, their significant others and other health care workers to systematically collect data about the health of each patient for initial screening, in-depth assessment and on-going monitoring and reassessment; identifying priorities, target dates and strategies or interventions in order to contribute to the individualized treatment programs that achieve the optimal outcome for each patient while promoting safety and effectiveness of interventions.
Working with other health care professionals to systematically evaluate the extent to which optimal outcomes have been achieved; delivering, coordinating and participating in professional development/education activities to ensure excellence in the provision of nutrition services, including providing clinical education to students and other health care professionals; participating in communication activities to maintain and continually enhance the coordination and quality of Nutrition services at the Hospital; performing administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Genetics Program; providing functional supervision and guidance to assigned technical and support personnel; conducting practice based research; performing other functions consistent with the job classification, as required.
