- Collaborate with the Dean to establish research goals and outcomes for the COD.
- Refine and collect research metrics to ensure college effectiveness.
- Organize and lead College-wide research events to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing with the COD.
- Establish and coordinate a mentorship program for faculty members and postdoctoral fellows.
- Lead campus wide research and graduate studies initiatives that involve the COD.
- Serve as a member of the Dean's Executive Team.
- Serve as a member on the advisory committee of USask Vice President Research Office
- Supervise the members of the research and graduate office.
- Lead COD graduate programs.
- Oversee allocated funds for the Associate Dean Research and Graduate studies office.
- Ensure research regulatory compliance through policy development and implementation.
- Collaborate with other campus units and external partners to explore research opportunities.
- Seek funding support for team grants and junior faculty members.
- Foster collaborative research initiatives involving basic science, clinical science, and educational researchers.
- Pursue inter and trans disciplinary research opportunities interna and external to USask.
- Chair the College Research Committee.
- Represent the College of Dentistry research portfolio on internal and external committees.
- Coordinate the College's Annual Research Day in collaboration with the Dean's office.
- Oversee the recruitment and appointment of visiting scholars and graduate students.
- Organize and host an annual reception at IADR/CADR meetings.
- Serve as a liaison between the COD and international and national research and graduate student organizations.
- Collaborate with the Development/Fundraising Officer to identify to build development and fundraising opportunities.
- PhD degree with a demonstrated track record of five or more years securing external funded grants.
- An established research program funded by prestigious granting agencies in Canada or International
- Active participant in innovative and novel research directions in biomedical sciences and dentistry.
- Experience in leading collaborative and/or interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Experience in leading, supervising, and managing graduate programs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Dental clinician-scientist (DDS/PhD or DMD/PhD degree).
- Ability to collaborate with researchers from basic science, clinical science, and educational backgrounds.
- Knowledge or experience in critical areas of dental, oral, and craniofacial research.
- Knowledge or experience in supporting educational and indigenous research.

The College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly motivated and visionary individual for the position of Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies. This leadership role will provide strategic direction and oversight for research initiatives within the College of Dentistry (COD). The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping two critical areas 1) the future of dental research and advancing the understanding of oral health within a diverse and inclusive environment 2) leading the evolution of the College's vibrant graduate programs.
