    Position Summary

    We have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to act as our Health Promotion Specialist .

    In this role you will be a driving force in promoting and delivering preventative health education as part of our Organizational Health Programs that currently focus on Cancer Awareness, Chronic Disease, and Cardiovascular Health. Your outgoing personality and engaging style will allow you to quickly build rapport and deliver ideal client experiences while supporting them to advocate for their own well-being. As programs expand in response to client needs, your input in content design will be highly appreciated.

    In a patient-facing capacity, you'll tap into your clinical knowledge and patient-centered approach to care delivery to conduct health assessments and collaborate with our team of NPs and MDs.

    This is a part-time position that could transition into full-time. Iridia is looking to have the right candidate start ASAP. The position is dynamic and will provide a unique opportunity to support/influence/educate different segments of the population on how to best manage their health.

    Duties

    • Lead, and assist in the development of, Preventative Health workshops
    • Perform direct on-site medical examinations and annual fit-for-duty evaluations, as required
    • Perform wellness health assessments and provide specialty medical referrals and follow-up for patients as needed
    • Lead a variety of occupational health programs that may include: venipuncture, hearing tests, provision of flu shots and biometric testing
    • Maintain and safeguard confidentiality of employee health information and health records of employees through accurate, complete and timely medical record documentation

    Qualifications

    • +5 years as a Registered Nurse license and member in good standing with the BC College of Nursing Professionals
    • Preferred – Emergency Nursing experience
    • Confident public speaker
    • Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal
    • Willing to gain the necessary knowledge and understanding of WorkSafe BC Regulations, BC Health Act, and OSHA recordability.
    • Willing to gain a working knowledge and application of Canada Labour Code, Human Rights of BC, Privacy Act (PIPA/PIPEDA), Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage the day to day operations within an everchanging work environment
    • Demonstrated ability to write concise report, prepare project plans
    • Conflict resolution experience and ability to persuade or influence individuals to change

    Compensation

    • $50/hr + 4% in-lieu of vacation
