Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assists senior technicians by reviewing job work orders, coordinating schedule with customers, gathering equipment, supplies and tools
- Shadows installs, service equipment for fire alarm/sprinkler systems by running and pulling wiring, connecting devices, programming, calibrating and testing equipment
- Learn and adhere to all codes, regulations and standards while regularly updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
- Keeps supplies ready by checking inventory, placing orders and verifying receipts
- Documents installation and maintains records
- Maintains customer rapport by resolving concerns and answering questions
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment by following safety practices and company policies
- Proactively takes ownership to accomplish new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to the job and company
Skills/Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with use of a personal vehicle
- Postsecondary education in fire protection or related field considered an asset
- Knowledge of related codes and standards including CAN/ULC S53604, CAN/ULC S53704 & NFPA13 considered an asset
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and problemsolve
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate installation and maintenance
- Strong ability to work well with team members or unsupervised within a flexible work environment
- Walk, stand, bend, stoop and/or lifting up to 50lbs as required
- Climb ladders, work from man lifts and tolerate heights as required
Salary:
From $20.00 per hour
