    In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization and in close partnership with the NH Research support team, the Lead, Indigenous Health Data, Evaluation and Research Support (the Lead) provides leadership in the development and implementation of data, evaluation and research support strategies and activities that inform Indigenous Health decision-making in the Health Authority.

    The Lead provides leadership in incorporating northern Indigenous perspectives and input into the development and implementation of data gathering and governance, evaluation and research support strategies and activities.

    The Lead facilitates research and evidence- informed Indigenous Health practice with the Quality and Information Management team and with Professional Practice.

    The Lead works in partnership across the organization to guide, cultivate, and facilitate a range of data, evaluation, and research support activities, enhancing the use of Indigenous Health evidence in practice and decision-making and enabling broad Indigenous engagement in research.

    The Lead influences the overall efforts in research, data, and evaluation for the entire organization to embed indigenous practices, approaches and voices across NH.

    Starting salary will be approximately from $86,398 to $107,997 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

    Qualfications


    • A Master's degree in health, evaluation or social sciences plus Five (5) to seven (7) years recent, related experience in evaluation and research, project management, performance monitoring or quality improvement initiatives, preferably in a healthcare setting; training and experience in developing evaluation frameworks, collecting data, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data and producing a variety of reports for different audiences;
    • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
    • Pursuant to section 41 of the British Columbia Human Rights Code, preference will be given to applicants of Aboriginal Ancestry.

    • Strong leadership skills including mentoring and capacity building skills.
    • Comprehensive technical and experiential knowledge of the range of applied research, knowledge translation, quality improvement, evidence informed practice, evaluation, and performance monitoring theories and methods.
    • Ability to foster innovation within a complex, multi-stakeholder organization.
    • Ability to see connections between issues, events and data points and to think clearly around complex systems, bridging community issues and regional and provincial activities.
    • Demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to foster collaborative partnerships using a team approach.
    • High level of motivation with a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and experience in project management; ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently.
    • Ability to effectively present and clarify requirements, expectations, ideas and concepts to health professionals, the public and participants in care innovations.
    • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information and prepare reports, policy documents, briefing notes, and planning documents for a variety of audiences.
    • High degree of comfort in clinical, administrative, and research environments.
    • Superior small and large group facilitation skills and individual coaching skills.
    • Ability and willingness to travel.
    • Knowledge and skills in Microsoft XP Office applications and analytical and statistical software.
