- Collaborate with customers and account teams to ensure alignment of products/portfolios with market demands.
- Work with PLM leadership team to establish a comprehensive cross-portfolio evolution strategy to help Ciena achieve its corporate objectives.
- Collaborate with R&D, supply chain, and procurement to optimize product/solution costs.
- Coordinate with R&D on feature prioritization/rollout.
- Engage with sales and customers to determine appropriate pricing.
- Partner with the Marketing team to clearly communicate and differentiate our competitive advantage to sales, customers, and the financial community.
- Explain product features and value proposition to the Sales team and customers.
- Support sales activities through involvement in lead customer engagements and key bid activities.
- Drive market pricing strategies and product cost reduction programs to balance growth with profitability.
- Collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain to execute revenue plan and volume forecast.
- Translate portfolio strategy into actionable product requirements and release plans.
- Lead a cross-functional team to establish a portfolio strategy for accelerated market growth by analyzing customer needs and market opportunities.
- Define, develop, and manage product roadmap to maximize market share and revenue growth.
- Manage the complete product lifecycle from concept to retirement.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in fiber optics, telecommunications, networking, or communications systems – or equivalent experience.
- Desirable: Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a successful track record of leadership.
- Strong background in optical fiber communications.
- Experience in introducing new products to customer accounts.
- Experience in growing a product business in a competitive environment.
- Strong business acumen and management experience.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in program and project management.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
