- Developing, coaching and providing daily direction to a team of 7 direct reports, including Dispatchers, Operations Control Coordinators and Private Fleet Supervisor as well as indirectly manage a team of 25 drivers
- Assessing training needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Managing outbound and replenishment freight expenses through accurate measurements and controls that improve the overall efficiency of the organization and reduce costs
- Owning management of KPI data accuracy, efficiency of Private Fleet operations and overall transportation budget for the Central region
- Reviewing, analyzing and propose solutions around outbound freight expenses through accurate measurements and controls to manage costs
- Visiting and liaise with our service providers to build effective partnerships and constantly monitor performance with the goal of improving efficiency and reducing costs in the network
- After careful analysis, prepare management recommendations, such as proposed fee and tariff increases or schedule changes
- Direct the effectiveness of private, third party and contract carrier systems
- Engaging and ensuring alignment between key internal and external stakeholders in transportation processes, including the establishment and or changes to policies, standards, procedures and rates
- Directing and managing corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures related to transportation activities
- Ensuring National Transportation Policy is being executed according to established procedures and collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive accountability
- Working with Director on national sourcing strategies from initiation to contract execution, including pricing and contract negotiations
- Remain current with latest transportation technology systems, procedures and best practices
- Bilingual – Fluent in both French and English
- Completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain or related fields preferred
- Possess 7+ years in transportation position with 5+ years in a management role
- You've managed professionals as well as large hourly workforce is an asset
- You have strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence others through demonstrated expertise
- Possess extensive transportation experience with carriers and private fleet operations
- You have strong industry knowledge of transportation processes, technologies and industry best practices, procedures & processes

- Diriger et gérer les procédures de gouvernance de l'entreprise et de conformité réglementaire liées aux activités de transport
- Veiller à ce que la politique nationale des transports soit mise en œuvre conformément aux procédures établies et collaborer avec les intervenants internes pour favoriser la responsabilisation
- Collaborer avec le directeur sur les stratégies d'approvisionnement nationales, de la négociation à l'exécution du contrat, y compris la tarification et la négociation de contrats
- Rester au fait des derniers systèmes, procédures et pratiques exemplaires en matière de technologie des transports

As a member of the national Transportation team and located at our Distribution Center in Dorval, this individual will play a key role in ensuring execution of our Transportation strategy while providing leadership and direction to our Operations Control Center team, Dispatch and Private Fleet Supervisor. The Transportation Manager will work closely with and influence multiple internal stakeholders such as Operations, Sales, RAQA and Finance.
