About the
Position
The RISE Program Coordinator will report to the RISE Programs Manager, West
- and oversee 10 volunteers per 21-week cohort as well as 3 paid mentors.
- The RISE Program Coordinator will oversee the local hub, lead & facilitate weekly meetings, support youth in cocreating & delivering a community project and build relationships with local community organizations.

Responsibilities
- Ambassador and Volunteer support (30%)
- Work with a group of youth volunteers (Ambassadors and Organizers) between the
- Recruit Ambassadors and Organizers, assist in training, coprepare duties and
- Support Ambassadors and Organizers, to plan, prepare, manage and implement a
- Prepare and conduct outreach activities
- Create and maintain relationships with community partners
- Lead, prepare and facilitate inperson and or virtual weekly meetings
- Assist in creating a space that is welcoming and accommodating to Ambassadors
- Manage files, record systems, office supplies and inventory in line with internal
- Keep up to date with other tasks and responsibilities outside of hub meetings
- Coordinate logistics for weekly gatherings including food, childcare if needed and
Budget Coordination (20%)
- Manage budget for community project
- Manage budget for office supplies, program materials, food orders, as well as
- Ambassador and Organizer supplies
- Track and file purchase receipts
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure budget deadlines and procedures are
Communications Coordination (20%)
- Manage social media accounts (FB, IG)
- Work closely with the Communications team to ensure communications deadlines
What You Bring to the Role:
- Strong facilitation skills; ability to lead group decision-making & team project management-
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport, build team culture & create 'brave spaces'-
- Experience with volunteer coordination or management-
- Demonstrated understanding of anti-oppressive frameworks, including knowledge of systems of oppression that affect young people in Canada, and openness to learning and embodying inclusive practices-
