The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining vertical farming systems, researching carbon capture and utilization systems, setting up machinery, harvesting and packaging produce, conducting plant biology experiments, germinating seeds, transplanting seedlings, routine cleaning and maintenance of the lab, communicating with customers, and inspecting off-site vertical farming installations in Surrey and Abbotsford BC.
Multidisciplinary STEM Roles - Biology, Engineering, Data AnalysisThese systems conserve natural resources by using less water than traditional agriculture, thanks to efficient irrigation and controlled environments.
This helps alleviate pressure on freshwater sources, crucial in water-scarce regions. Additionally, vertical farming reduces the carbon footprint of food production by minimizing the need for long-distance transportation.By growing crops closer to urban centers and our existing partners in remote, Indigenous communities, these farms decrease emissions associated with transportation and provide fresh produce year-round to local communities.
