    Job Description:

    NVIT anticipates a need for one full-time ongoing position of Manager, Academic Integrity at the Merritt Campus and invites applications from qualified candidates. This will be an exempt position with an anticipated start date of Fall 2023.

    Job Summary:

    The Manager of Academic Integrity (MAI) will be responsible for all activities regarding Academic Integrity (Including but not limited to; quality assurance, academic and institutional policy review and development, Micro-Credentials, and external regulatory accreditation bodies.)

    Reporting to the Vice-President Academic, the successful applicant leads the creation and implementation of processes to integrate planning and program development of NVIT. The Manager synthesizes input from academic units to develop planning documents that reflect NVIT's academic and strategic priorities. The incumbent works with faculty and staff in developing new programs and monitoring program quality. Possessing a thorough understanding of policies and procedures, the individual provides oversight of program approval processes and monitors the progress of initiatives from initial concept through to implementation. The Manager also undertakes projects that support the priorities of the Academic Office, such as the development and implementation of new initiatives, the creation and discontinuation of programs, and other centralized activities.

    The role has three areas of focus:

    1. Academic Planning

    2. Academic Quality Reviews

    3. Organizational Transition, Planning, and Coordination.

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Relevant Master's degree or equivalent education and experience;
    • Highly developed and sophisticated ability to gather and synthesize information in a comprehensive fashion, preparing concise and clear communications in a variety of written formats.
    • Strong organizational skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to work and problem-solve independently;
    • Demonstrates an ability to work both independently and on a team, with a proactive service-oriented approach when liaising with partners and anticipating issues or operational needs, including the appropriate follow-up to ensure goals and objectives are met;
    • Knowledge and expertise in Education Council processes;
    • Familiarity with program development, delivery, and evaluation in a post-secondary setting, including quality assurance and governance structures;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of external regulating bodies;
    • Demonstrated knowledge of BCCAT and transferability processes;
    • Well-developed, effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to liaise with partners and stakeholders, managing issues of a sensitive nature and resolving conflicts in a professional manner; and
    • Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing.
