    Description

    This Accounting Manager position is an opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a dynamic business (SaaS business model) with high visibility and growth ambitions.

    Ziff Davis continues to grow and we are expanding our accounting team which operates in the US and international cloud (SaaS).

    As a fast paced, dynamic, global accounting team of a public company we are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Company's accounting activities.

    This position is for an Accounting Manager role with a large business unit and subsidiary of Ziff Davis, referred to as the MOZ Group.

    MOZ is a leading provider of marketing technology solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises.
    They empower businesses through SaaS solutions such online search, email, voice and text communication.
    We are seeking a high-performing, innovative and results-oriented person to join the accounting team.

    This is a key position not only in the accounting department but in the operations of the company as well.

    The Accounting Manager will be responsible for supervising at least one staff accountant and will report directly to the Corporate Controller of the MOZ group.

    The Accounting Manager will review journal entries prepared by the staff accountant or group of staff accountants and will analyze financial data to identify issues and inconsistencies, assist in internal financial reporting and provide technical accounting guidance.

    Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review reconciliations prepared by the staff accountant as part of the month end close cycle as needed.

    Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation in accordance with SOX.

    Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities and capital accounts, fluctuations in the balance sheet and income statement, demonstrating a deep understanding of the activity in the accounts.

    Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review reconciliations prepared by the staff accountant as part of the month end close cycle as needed.

    Interact with the business to ensure completeness of accounting of transactions and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, as applicable.

    Demonstrated experience researching accounting and finance matters, identify issues and presenting matters with solutions to the Corporate Controller for sign-off.

    Ability to look at current processes and recommend efficiencies both in accounting and operationally.
    Strong G/L analysis and understanding of US GAAP accounting principles required
    3+ years' experience in a Software or Software as a Services (SaaS) company desired
    1+ years strong ERP accounting experience required, Oracle Fusion Cloud is a plus
    Must have excellent MS Excel skills and experience building complex spreadsheets
