    Description

    Job Description:

    Managing and analyzing the company's fixed assets, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Performs fixed, leased and capital assets accounting relating to creating manual journal entries, reviewing/approving assets, calculating depreciations, posting journal entries, and creating standardized reporting.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    Fixed Assets and Intangibles Accounting

  • Collaborate with management on oversight of accountants' work and reconciliations to drive quality in the department
  • Lead accounting research and put forth decisions for review with management
  • Anticipate and provide analysis on all aspects of fixed asset and leasing cost and depreciation as required
  • Aid accountants with the review of potential fixed asset and intangibles additions and lifecycle events ensuring compliance with IAS 16
  • Work with other departments to gather data to ensure quality output
  • Lead the preparation and review of various quarter end fixed asset reports and analysis
  • Leased Assets Accounting

  • Apply knowledge of IFRS 16 leasing standards
  • Manage the review of various monthly and quarterly workbooks and reports related to journal entries and reporting
  • Create standardized reporting based on stakeholder requirements & resolve inquiries
  • Additional

  • Provide general close support / accruals
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • General ledger reconciliations
  • Education and/or Experience Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Business (preferably Accounting or Finance) with 5+ years of experience in accounting & financial functions
  • Relevant Certifications: CPA or other equivalent
  • Required Skills/Abilities

  • Finance & Accounting principles and core functional knowledge
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Several years of experience managing and analyzing fixed assets
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a workload with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Accurate, organized and with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Confidence and assertiveness to enforce the financial guidelines while still maintaining rapport
  • Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills to work with all types and levels of people inside and external to the organization
  • Advance computer skills (Excel, Word) in order to create all spreadsheets, formulas and linking; create own confidential correspondence
  • Ability to deal with confidential information that may not be shared inside and outside the organization.
  • Passion to provide excellent customer service
