    Our client, in the Manufacturing industry, is seeking a Health Safety and Environmental Manager is to join their team to assist in implementing and improving programs and procedures to continuously improve the safety culture of the location.

    Position:
    Health Safety and Environment Manager


    Salary:
    $90,000-100,000/annually


    Location:
    Etobicoke, On (On-site with travel to various branches)


    Job Purpose:
    Implement and enhance programs and procedures to foster a culture of safety within location branches.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Regularly assess branch metrics for continuous improvement.
    • Promote safety awareness through communication and training.
    • Implement programs to prevent injuries and accidents.
    • Conduct on site safety inspections and provide coaching.
    • Perform thorough accident investigations and recommend preventive measures.
    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
    • Deliver safety training for new employees.

    Disability Management:

    • Provide accurate reports on WSIB and WCB claims.
    • Collaborate with HR to manage return to work plans.

    Policy and Process:

    • Develop and maintain HSE policies compliant with regulations.
    • Stay updated on OHSA amendments and recommend implementation.

    Audit and Investigations:

    • Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analysis.
    • Coordinate internal and external HSE audits and investigations.
    • Drive implementation of corrective actions.

    Data Management:

    • Maintain industry databases with current data.
    • Respond to requests for HSE information and statistics.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in H&S or related field preferred.
    • CRSP designation required; COR certification an asset.
    -5+ years' experience in HSE field.

    • Strong understanding of HSE legislation and best practices.
    • Strong decision making and team building skills.
    • Affinity for continuous improvement and policy development.
    • Ability to build rapport at all organizational levels.
    • Organized, self starter with prioritization skills.

    Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

    • Office based with some travel to branches or job sites.
    • Air travel for branch visits may be required.
    • Variable working hours including regular and out of regular hours.
    -24/7 availability for critical HSE compliance issues.
