- Is accountable for achieving the sales margin targets with feed and fertilizer customers.
- Identifies and develops new customer opportunities.
- Provides focused and productive communication within the sales department, within the company and with our clients;
- Works with the Sales Manager to develop sales strategies and programs.
- Monitors sales performance and provides status updates and other reporting documents.
- Monitors market and competitive environments.
- Ensures customer inquiries and concerns are handled in a timely manner.
- Conducts meetings and customer visits with our manufacturer representatives.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, where applicable.
- Utilize technical expertise to demonstrate value as part of selling process.
- Provides ongoing support to other members of the sales and customer service team.
- Assists with pricing, promotions and other marketing activities including trade show and industry event participation.
- Ensure CRM is updated with most accurate contact name, number and email.
- Travel required in Canada and the USA
- A business or agriculture degree/diploma or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of sales success in an account management role
- Knowledge of international food/feed ingredients, related commodity or chemical markets
- Experience working in Safe Feed-Safe Food regulatory frameworks would be an asset
- Be able to lead by example, foster collaboration and drive win-win outcomes for customers, and coworkers
- Possess a strong customer service orientation by consistently and successfully responding to sales opportunities and customer needs
- Strong organization, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Self-motivated, high energy and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; be a clear and concise communicator
- Possess a positive and professional personal and corporate image at all times
- Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Willingness to travel
- Valid Driver's license and evidence of insurability
