The salary range for this position is:

Recruitment range: $77,064-$84,968 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.
Performance range: starting salary to a maximum of $100,235 available through annual performance increases.

Job Summary

Mandate: Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Learning, the Manager of Access Services and Resource Sharing is crucial in the effective management of Access Services (AS) and Resource Sharing (RS) at UVic Libraries.

AS encompasses all circulation services and public service points in the Mearns-McPherson Library and Diana M. Priestly Law Library, providing welcome, services, and support to in-person and remote library users.

RS includes Stack Maintenance, ReQuest for Faculty, Distance Learning and Research, and the Libraries' Student Assistant Program, ensuring the efficient management of physical collections and delivery of requested materials to library users.

The Manager also supervises the physical management of spaces and collections in the Law Library.

Objectives

Oversee day-to-day operations for AS and RS, including directing material circulation, staffing service points, stacks maintenance, material delivery, accounting processes, and event setups.
Provide planning, project management, training development, and continuous improvement for AS & RS activities.
Supervise people management functions in both AS and RS in collaboration with the Director of Engagement and Learning.
Develop training programs to support staff in various aspects of library services.
Collaborate with staff to ensure AS and RS meet user demands effectively.
Administer budgets for AS and RS, develop operational goals, projects, and assess outputs.
Participate in operational discussions to ensure effective public service across Libraries and related divisions.

Job Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
