    About the team

    Stripe Admin is an internal platform which is relied upon by Stripe employees globally for every part of their job: from talking with our users on the phone to launching a new feature and everything in between. Admin is an integral part of how we move quickly in service of our users. Admin Platform is responsible for the entire stack that powers Stripe Admin. Our platform supports hundreds of Stripe engineers globally, who deploy dozens of times daily into a several-hundred-thousand-line codebase to thousands of internal users; those users spend their entire day in Admin executing mission-critical tasks for Stripe. Our job is to improve productivity for all those stakeholders while upholding a world-class security posture, and this often requires intervention at every layer of the stack.

    You will

  • Work with a team of technically sophisticated engineers who make developer experience their first priority
  • Own solutions from end to end, managing complexity and engaging directly with stakeholders to think through everything from success metrics, to the ergonomics of individual API's.
  • Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
  • Uphold Stripe's high standards for engineering and product quality and mentor newer team members to do the same.
  • Teach and mentor the next generation of technical leaders at Stripe

    Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with an emphasis on modern frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/TypeScript/React) and building delightful user interfaces.
  • Advanced knowledge of modern HTML and CSS
  • Passionate about improving productivity and developer experience of internal product teams
  • The ability to thrive on a high level of ambiguity, autonomy and responsibility
  • Eager to learn and effective at giving and receiving constructive feedback to/from peer engineers

    • Preferred qualifications

  • A passion for performance and love coming up with creative solutions to push it to the limit.
  • Experience building scalable frontend infrastructure, web SDKs, and/or APIs
  • Have experience gathering and using data to analyze user behavior/intent to inform future product decisions.
  • Appreciation for the importance of good documentation -- internal and external.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for different audiences (leadership, users, stakeholders etc.)

    • Hybrid work at Stripe

    This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

    Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

    A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

    Pay and benefits

    The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is C$172,000 - C$258,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
