    Accountability 1. Functional/Technical
  • Oversee and expertly coordinate all security-related activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security are consistently met in every aspect of operations.
  • Provide comprehensive oversight for the critical, safe, and secure functioning of services, prioritizing the protection of OOI's employees and properties within the operational scope.
  • Strategically develop, implement, and rigorously enforce security-specific standard operating procedures that are pivotal to maintaining a safe and secure operational environment.
  • Develop and implement robust protocols and comprehensive training programs to ensure a highly efficient, coordinated response and dispatch service across a range of operational scenarios.
  • Interpret and rigorously enforce the strategic priorities of the organization, ensuring these are effectively communicated and embodied by all team members, while maintaining a consistent standard of service excellence.
  • Forge and nurture strong relationships and partnerships both within the organization and with external entities to advance the organization's objectives and enhance its security posture.
  • Ensure optimal allocation of resources, including regular training and thorough performance evaluations of the security team, and establish measurable key performance indicators to monitor and report on team effectiveness.
  • Proactively identify and integrate cutting-edge security technologies, continuously updating and refining security strategies to align with evolving threats, with a paramount focus on safeguarding employee and public safety.

  • Proactively identifies and initiates action plans and strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, setting the stage for future-focused improvements.
  • Spearheads the development and meticulous upkeep of a comprehensive knowledge base and procedural framework, ensuring the implementation and perpetuation of operationally robust and replicable processes.
  • Skillfully integrates security processes with broader organizational procedures, enabling seamless collaboration and operational synergy across all business units.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement by cultivating an open, communicative environment that actively encourages and values innovative thinking and employee contributions.
  • Develop and consistently monitor key performance indicators, meticulously aligning them with the organization's strategic priorities to ensure a focused and effective security operation.
    • 3. People Leadership
  • Creates a working environment that is aligned with the organization's desire to be a "best company to work for", ensuring that people resources possess the required skills, are properly aligned, and are provided with the resources to do the job
  • Manages and provides overall direction to project teams, including defining team member roles, responsibilities, and expectations; ensures timely feedback to ensure a cohesive operational unit and the optimum use of team skills
  • Leads, coaches, and motivates employees in their work processes and ensures they are equipped with tools and information to enable their full engagement; monitors the achievement of performance objectives, develops and implements action plans to address performance gaps
  • Provides creative leadership with input from others to develop and deploy a strategic vision; connects and aligns projects with strategic corporate goals
    • Education & Qualifications
  • Post Secondary education in Security or equivalent work experience
  • 5-8 years' experience in emergency response and incident management
  • Superior communication and presentation skills
  • Minimum 5-8 years' management experience
  • Experience in the transit industry
