    The AIR MILES Reward Program is one of Canada's most recognized loyalty programs, with over 10 million active collector accounts, representing more than half of all Canadian households.

    AIR MILES collectors earn Reward Miles at more than 300 leading Canadian, global and online brands and at thousands of retail and service locations across the country.

    AIR MILES is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bank of Montreal (BMO). BMO is Canada's oldest bank and the 8th largest in North America with more than 12 million customers globally.


    Overview:
    This role will lead the Data Governance practice at Air Miles.

    Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, this role is responsible for designing and implementing an integrated roadmap for all aspects of data governance.

    This role will also be responsible for supporting the evolution of the organization's data strategy by implementing and promoting improved data governance practices, enforcing policy, and working closely with the Data & Analytics Leadership to help achieve business goals with dataResponsibilities:

    Strategy – Builds and implements a Data Governance Roadmap that aligns the Data Governance policy with the overall goals of the business strategy.

    Ensures data strategy and management practices are aligned in support of business objectivesPolicies & Procedures – Develops, maintains and monitors data governance policies and procedures.

    Establishes, maintains, periodically reviews and recommends changes to data governance policies, standards, guidelines, and proceduresEducation & Enablement – Leads educational sessions on policy changes and data governance rules and best practicesChange Management – Drives change in the organization to maximize the value of its data and plans for how the company will make those changes.

    Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

    Creates a culture where data is managed as a valuable corporate asset, adheres to the regulations around data compliance, and reduces overall riskData Management- Ensures that data is secure, private, accurate, available and usable.

    Provides interpretation of enterprise data governance guidelines.

    Conducts audits to ensure that policies, procedures and metrics are in place for maintaining/improving the programAdditional responsibilitiesDeploys technologies, ensures compliance with standards, and provides updates on policy changesOperates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

    Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routineQualificationsAdvanced level of proficiency: Privacy governance technology enablement.

    Data privacy. Enterprise data management. Ontology design. Master data management. Data governance. IT standards and governance. Data integrity. Data quality. Metadata management. Verbal & written communication skills. Analytical and problem solving skills. Influence skills. Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration. Able to manage ambiguity. Data driven decision making.

    Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.


    Intermediate level of proficiency:
    Information and data strategy. Managing change.
