    Description

    Unit Summary

    Perioperative Services at Hamilton Health Sciences, includes the Juravinski, General, McMaster and West Lincoln sites, providing preoperative, intra-operative and post-operative care for both adults and children. Perioperative Services includes the Same Day Surgery Units, Operating and Procedure Rooms, Post-anesthetic Care Units, Endoscopy and GI Investigation Unit, Interventional Radiology and Medical Device Reprocessing Departments at all sites, as well as the Centralized Preop Clinic and Booking Office. In addition, the Acute Pain Service across the Juravinski, General and McMaster sites, falls under the Perioperative Services Program.

    Position Summary

    The Clinical Manager, Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Same Day Surgery, Periop Schedulers, functions according to the Accountability Statement for Clinical Managers. Specific responsibilities include: managing the day-to-day issues related to staffing and care delivery while facilitating the development of leadership skills in staff; facilitating the development of the interdisciplinary care team which is integral to the Program; facilitating an environment which supports creativity, quality improvement and innovation in the delivery of patient care services; promoting an environment which supports clinical excellence, continuous learning and measurement and evaluation; and ongoing development and monitoring of budget utilization and unit-specific data in order to measure and evaluate the quality of care within the program.

    Monday to Friday days

    Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate Degree in one of the Health Disciplines
    2. Recent relevant clinical Perioperative experience
    3. Clinical management (2 year) experience, preferred in a perioperative setting
    4. Demonstrated leadership and management skills
    5. Evidence of commitment to continuous education through pursuit of graduate studies or comparable educational endeavours
    6. Demonstrated excellence in communication, team-building and the ability to initiate and model positive change
    7. Membership in the relevant Professional College/Association
