    AppOps, Senior Specialist

    We are looking to strengthen our AppOps practice with a Senior Specialist passionate about building secure, efficient and reliable systems. This senior role requires advanced experience in cloud platforms, automation and infrastructure as code within an Agile environment.

    You'llbe responsible for:

  • Lead optimization exercises to enhance application performance, using comprehensive monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Guide specialists to analyze application trends and code to identify potential issues
  • Lead and develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to manage and provision cloud resources (Terraform, Anisble, Chef, etc.)
  • Manage cloud native tools and services, including serverless architectures, microservices, and managed services
  • Review/make code observations to strengthen application stability
  • Collaborate with development, operations and security teams to apply security best practices into all aspects of AppOps (CI/CD, IaC, security tool integrations)
  • Lead continuous improvement by developing and implementing cutting-edge automation solutions, reducing manual intervention and streamlining the process for cloud infrastructure and application management (self-healing, auto-scaling, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities to create reusable components to enable automation adoption. Work closely with the development team to break down technical obstacles and implement automation, where applicable
  • Contribute to Interac's strategic objectives by enabling faster, more secure and efficient deployment of applications, supporting business agility and growth
  • Gather and provide application metrics, KPI's, SLI, SLO, SLA's etc.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, automations and processes
  • Collaborate and coordinate across teams and functions to ensure technical, product, and business objectives are met
  • Instill end-to-end ownership of products, projects, features, modules, and services that you and the team deliver in all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, showcasing a proven ability to present to senior leadership
  • Available to support 24/7 to ensure application availability

    • You bring:

  • 8+ years of development experience, with 5+ years of professional experience leading development teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies and automation tools are a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.
  • 8+ years proficiency in using version control systems, such as Git, for managing codebases and collaboration
  • 8+ years of programming experience (Java, Python, Spring Framework, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, etc. for monitoring infrastructure and applications
  • Knowledge in software architecture from at least one of: mobile app development, web applications, and/or Node or Java backends
  • 8+ years of experience with Agile development and Agile frameworks (JIRA, GitHub)
  • 8+ years experience with container orchestration
  • 8+ years experience in Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • 8+ years of experience in software lifecycle including release planning, time estimates, release processes, software testing, incident and issue management, monitoring & alerting and related
  • Possess a strong understanding of software development methodologies, ISO 27001 and ITIL 4 best practices
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and self-direction connected with a passion for excellence in product and people
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Experience from fintech or retail sector is a strong plus
