    Description
    Olthuis van Ert is a barristers' practice specializing in commercial litigation and public law.

    With offices in Vancouver and Ottawa, our team of counsel includes former judicial clerks to the Supreme Court of Canada, and members of the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute.

    We represent a diverse clientele of individuals, corporations, professional regulators, Indigenous groups, and government bodies.
    Our Vancouver office is in search of a Controller to join our busy and dynamic team. Reconcile monthly trust and general bank accounts
    Prepare month-end GL account reconciliations and journal entries
    Oversee external payroll and benefits' administrator
    Administer accounts receivable, accounts payable, and trust accounting
    Manage the monthly billing processes and related documents
    Liaise with external service providers, auditors, banks, and other professionals
    Respond to internal firm requests and inquiries, run reports, process expense claims, and resolve issues
    Train firm members on accounting policies, processes, and procedures
    Develop and oversee internal controls, and day-to-day accounting functions
    Professional accounting designation (CPA), preferred
    ~Knowledge and experience with BC Law Society trust rules (ON Law Society trust rules an asset)
    ~ Experience with payroll, benefits administration, and ESA standards
    ~ Strong computer skills (MS 365, record keeping and document management)
