    Description

    Position:
    Senior Project Accountant

    ICON is a multi-disciplinary construction company dedicated to the art of city building and producing beautiful buildings with careful consideration to low-carbon development.

    The ideal candidate will have work experience in the construction industry and comes with strong cost control and reporting experience.

    Setting up credit applications for all new accounts
    Setting up and assisting in coding estimates to Budgets and entering into Sage 300 for the various projects
    Matches receivers (material acquisitions) to packing slips and invoices
    Bank reconciliations
    Cost allocations to the various phases and pools of the project
    Process holdbacks, maintain, administer holdback accounts and release of monies
    Adheres to proper internal controls and contributes new ideas for improvement.
    Photocopying, filing, preparing, organizing and maintaining accounting/contract records
    Creating/maintaining policies/procedure manuals
    Maintaining/updating distribution lists, phone lists and other databases.
    Control and management of construction documentation
    Performs clerical duties related to subcontracts, change orders, purchase orders, holdback releases, lien handling
    Distribute all documents to subcontractors and other required recipients
    Coordinates and distributes required project information to project team.
    Ensure that all documents are filed both electronically in the document control logs and within the project paper filing systems
    Cashflow projections, budget variance analysis, contract administration and reporting to provide useful information to owners
    Working with site personnel to standardize reports and projections
    Understand insurance requirements for projects and obtain such information from Trades
    Advanced computer skills as well as proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
    Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly
    Experience in accounts payable and understanding of project costing
    Experience in multi-phased projects involving cost allocations
    Experience using Timberscan and Sage 300 a definite asset

    Job Types:
    Full-time, Fixed term contract

    reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

    How many years of Construction and/or Project Accounting experience do you have?
    Do you have experience with Timberline accounting system?
