    Whitecap Resources Inc. ("Whitecap") is an intermediate-size oil-weighted growth company that pays a monthly cash dividend to its shareholders while being recognized for storing more CO2 annually than we emit corporately.

    Whitecap has experienced significant growth over the past three years, increasing our production from 60,000 boe/d to approximately 160,000 boe/d and our employee headcount from 270 people to 550, primarily across Alberta and Saskatchewan. Including our valued contract staff, we are accountable for approximately 840 staff.

    Job Title | Production Accountant – Royalty Contract

    Location | Head Office, Calgary, AB

    Reporting to | Manager, Production Accounting

    Position Overview:

    This senior contract role is within our Production Accounting team and is primarily responsible for the review of non-crown royalties in Western Canada. The main duties will include analysis of royalty master setups, liaising with the mineral land department and completing required amendments. Other project opportunities may also be considered.

    Key Job Accountabilities:

    Non-Crown Royalty Review:

    o Analysis of PA master data versus the land mineral contract (LandRite well summary).

    o Liaise with land mineral analysts.

    o Review and investigate non-crown royalty deductions.

    o Communicate and track master data changes.

    o Complete royalty amendments and/or provide estimates.

    o Support PA with non-crown royalty related questions.

    Prepare financial entries into Qbyte FM.

    Address owner queries and provide back-up.

    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Primary Qualifications and Skills:

    Minimum 10 years of applicable work experience.

    Business Degree and/or CAPPA certification.

    Extensive experience in analyzing and evaluating royalty contracts.

    Extensive knowledge of Metrix, Qbyte FM, Optix. Knowledge of LandRite would be an asset.

    Strong experience in Excel including pivot tables and lookup formulas.

    Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.

    Ability to work independently, while also working within a team environment.

    Reliable and organized with the ability to manage a high-volume workload.

    Must be legally able to work in Canada.
