    Description

    The main purpose of this role is to help with compliance in Transfer Pricing regulations in Canada and other countries where the Bank operates. This involves assisting in establishing transfer pricing methodologies and policies in line with OECD guidelines.

    Are you a fit for this position? Here's what you'll do:

    • Support the implementation of the Bank's transfer pricing policies to ensure compliance with Canadian legislation and coordination with other countries' requirements.
    • Identify and reduce tax exposure for cross-border transactions.
    • Create and manage Transfer Pricing documentation.
    • Ensure all relevant branches and departments maintain sufficient documentation for government tax authorities.
    • Support Transfer Pricing processes such as identifying transactions and reviewing agreements.
    • Assist in managing CRA audits of cross-border transactions.
    • Provide transfer pricing advice on various business opportunities and transactions.
    • Develop good relationships with key stakeholders within the Bank.

    Do you have the skills for success? Here's what we're looking for:

    • An economist, lawyer, or CA with experience in transfer pricing in a corporate multinational tax environment.
    • Minimum six years' experience in a corporate financial multinational tax environment.
    • Knowledge of Scotiabank's foreign business operations.
    • Ability to identify transfer pricing issues and implement solutions.
    • Experience with taxation and related structures.
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    • Knowledge of transfer pricing and other taxation areas.
    • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
