KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a key member of the team, perform the monthly IFRS 17 actuarial and financial reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
- Enhance the actuarial analytics capacity by utilizing and developing the functionality of the SAS IFRS 17 solution.
- Support the Actuary in the testing and implementation of the new system for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
- Contribute to the company's annual stress testing related tasks.
- Assist in IFRS 17 actuarial liability cashflow model enhancement, testing, and validation.
- Support regulatory capital forecasting and perform Quantitative Impact Study according to regulator's instructions, as required.
- Gather and analyze data using various analytical tools to create reports on an adhoc basis, help senior management identify trends and provide insights for insurance revenue, insurance service expenses and loss ratio.
- Provide support in streamlining and automation of the endtoend IFRS 17 valuation process.
- Prepare and document the key procedures; maintain and enhance the control process for IFRS 17 financial reporting.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES**- Prior working experience in IFRS 17 actuarial modeling, an asset.
- Experience using and developing actuarial and financial models with SAS, SQL, Excel or other software.
- Experience preparing, transforming, and analyzing large data sets in a relational database.
- Experience developing and presenting analytics in Excel.
- Practical statistical experience in an academic or business setting.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data and draw insights and recommendations.
- Selfmotivated and resultsdriven with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines in a rewarding and
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, business or another quantitative field.
- An advanced degree is considered as an asset.
