The salary range for this position begins at $46,809.

We're looking for a creative, data-driven and strategic Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing team.
Do you have experience digging into data to find the perfect audience and channel for your marketing campaigns? Are you a great copywriter with a creative eye? Do you love collaborating with your peers to build-out effective marketing plans? Are you able to use trends and insights to identify opportunities? Are you excited by the idea of finding the perfect book for every reader?


Your contribution to the story:


At Penguin Random House Canada, our Marketing team is focused on reaching and connecting with readers to help them discover their next favourite book, update them on the authors they love, and provide reading recommendations based on topics and content they are already interested in or searching for.


Reporting to the Director, Integrated Marketing, you will work within the marketing team to support the promotion of our Knopf Canada books, authors and brand, as well as work on Knopf Doubleday US titles, including advertising, audience engagement, and creative direction.


What you'll do:


  • Work closely with the Knopf Canada PR and Marketing Strategist to align on budget, priorities and direction to build crosschannel marketing tactics that support the campaign goals and objectives for our books in Canada, and books we sell and market from the US.
  • Coordinate closely with the Knopf Canada PR and Marketing Strategist to plan and execute marketing plans for our books that reach our intended audiences
  • Work with our advertising, design and performance marketing teams to put impactful, performancedriven advertising campaigns inmarket
  • Use data and audience insights to find the best possible channels to promote our books regardless of format
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimizations to best reach our audiences
  • Manage marketing campaign workflow with an eye to deadlines
  • Use trends and data to surface opportunities for Knopf Canada backlist titles
  • Work with the Knopf Canada PR and Marketing Strategist to build creative alwayson campaigns for backlist and evergreen titles

Experience and knowledge you'll bring (qualifications):

  • Experience executing a breadth of marketing campaigns with a variety of messaging and audiences, with a preference for experience in digital and social advertising
  • Solid copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to adapt your voice for both the channel and the audience
  • Proven ability to work with design teams to collaborate on the creation of onbrand and audiencecentric design assets
  • An understanding of marketing analytics and data analysis, and experience working on dataled and performance driven marketing campaigns
  • Exceptional ability and enthusiasm to work across teams, and coordinate effectively with multiple colleagues to bring our plans tomarket
  • Organization, and the ability to manage your time within multiple deadlines
  • An inclusive approach, supported by a cultural competency and a proven ability to collaborate with people from across a wide range of diverse backgrounds
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team
  • Enhanced knowledge, awareness, and experience with the culture and history of any community that has faced marginalization is considered a plus
  • And of course, a deep passion for Knopf Canada books and authors
